Our Finest - Way back in 1987, Sam Wammack, the founder of the Home Brewery,  won Best of Show in a big home brewing competition for the first time. The beer was made with a light dry malt extract, and included a tiny amount of Chocolate Malt, plus a can of Alexander's.   That beer was exceptional, with a great malt flavor, body, and head. It got us thinking - why not design a malt extract the same way?

Yellow Dog Malt Extract was created, named after his family pet, Teddy . Sure enough, the extract had the same fine flavor as that winning beer.
